About That Flathead Lake (July 22 - 28 )

Dear Family and Friends,

We have really enjoyed our first of two weeks at Flathead Lake and Polson, Montana. Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It is 28 miles long and 15 miles wide with 160 miles of Shoreline. We are at Polson Motorcoach and RV Resort. Our site overlooks one end of Flathead Lake with the Mission Mountains in the background. It is truly as beautiful a place as I have seen and in my opinion rivals the lakes in Europe. The resort is the best that we have used, with friendly owners and RVers.

No kidding, this is the view of Flathead Lake with the Mission Mountains behind it, from our front window.

Roger and Bear are checking out our new site.

The front view of our site shows the full barbecue area on the terraced patio, below our Tour.

 Bear loves the dog run!
Fun with Bear's favorite pal Roger.

As you can see from the above pictures, we are enjoying our stay at Polson RV Resort. The only thing that could top it off would be a visit from our son and grandchildren. Rob, Abby and Jackson arrived on Wednesday (from Dallas) and left on Saturday. It was a quick visit, but we had so much fun being with them. Thank you Rob, for bringing the children to visit us in Montana.

Before the grandchildren arrived, our Bear had a mishap. While hopping out of the Tour, he managed to snag his nail on a hind leg necessitating a trip to the local vet. Happily we found a wonderful vet who snipped off the nail and placed Bear's hurt paw in a bandage. Bear is on medication for a week. Below are the pics from our eventful week.

Our poor Bear who was a trooper throughout his split nail ordeal.

It wouldn't be a visit to Mimi and Grandad without presents.

Our superhero Jackson loves Star Wars!

Rob, in a rare moment of relaxing, on our patio.

Jackson, Abby and Grandad had lots of fun at the pool.

 More Star Wars fun.

Abby is zonked out. She can sleep through anything.

Even though he is on vacation, Rob still has a law practice that keeps him very busy.

Our four days with the grandchildren went quickly. An all day trip to Glacier National Park, a ride on the Happy Hippo (complete with pirates) on Flathead Lake, swimming in the resort pool, playing with new toys, and just generally hanging out with the family was a thrill for Mimi and Grandad. Although we had to say goodbye on Saturday, I look forward to visiting Dallas in October (Mimi duty) and then with Roger, spending 6 weeks in the Ft. Worth/Dallas area for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Thank you for your interest in our blog. We will be at Flathead Lake for another week and then it is on to Missoula, Montana.
