Hello from Seward, Alaska. Seward sits on the Kenai Peninsula near the Gulf of Alaska, in Resurrection Bay. We are here for three nights before heading on to Homer. I am typing this blog from the Seward library where we have found excellent WiFi. I will try to bring you up to date on our Alaskan travels:
In Palmer, Alaska (where we spent one night), we toured a reindeer farm. It was here that I learned that reindeer and caribou are the same thing. They also had elk, bison and a moose. The latter two were rescued and raised at the farm.

Imagine our surprise upon returning to the RV resort, to find this bull moose off to the right of the drive.
Earlier in the week, we spent three nights in Valdez. The highlight was an all day cruise in Prince William Sound. The animal life was spectacular.

Many of you may remember the Exon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound in March of 1989. Since then oil barges must be chaperoned by two separate boats.

Look closely for the bald headed eagle.
As I look back at the pictures, I realize that they can never portray the true beauty of this country. I can only give you a glimpse of this truly wild area where animal life is everywhere and the beauty of the country is impossible to describe.
We are half way through our 60 day trip. The time is flying by and we look forward to that next wonderful place. We head to Homer on Friday. Then it is up to Denali and Fairbanks. Thank you for checking in with us.
